The first time I heard "you are ready now" was at Baptiste Yoga Level 1 Training, and I did not feel at all ready.
I had come that far, to Hawaii, booked tickets and prepared physically because I wanted to become a yoga teacher. Only once there, I was plagued by "I'm not ready".
Raise your hand if you have uttered this phrase.
More than likely, we all have and oddly enough usually in regard to goals and dreams we very much want to achieve. We just put off launching, taking that first step, starting under the guise of "I'm not quite ready yet" and then begins the laundry list of what needs to happen first.
We always want a little more training, a little more time, to wait until we are older or stall because we should have started when we are younger. We say we will start when we have more time, when our jobs settle down, when our kids are in school. We say just need to get our website perfect or more financial stability and then we will be ready.
And this is how we slowly talk ourselves out of starting, with this crazy idea of ready.
Want to know a secret? You are never ready, not for the really big bold steps. You get ready along the way.
I bring all of this up because this was us here at Wishing Well until, well, like two days ago. We had been planning to launch on this day and then that day and we kept delaying until ... yes, we were ready. We were nervous, and wanted everything to be perfect.
You only launch once, we said.
Our website is not perfect, we worried.
Maybe, in another month, we thought.
Then on Valentine's Day, two tiny little days ago, we just decided to jump--cannonball into a pool-style.
Guess what? We were ready now.
This is not to say there have not been glitches or bumps. There have. There will be again.
This is more to say that the only way to truly start is to just start, as is, and keep moving forward.
And I share this with you in hopes it inspires you to realize you are ready now. Your intention is waiting so get going.
I say this as a certified yoga teacher.
